Development Manager & Architectural Lead, C#/.NET/SQL/Javascript

TRG is a growing, dynamic, software firm which provides spend management software solutions enabling enterprises to gain total cost transparency and control of their entire universe of corporate subscriptions, recurring expenses and vendor relationships. We’re small (about 60 people) but stable: we were founded in 1998, profitable since our inception, and backed by major private equity firm Polaris Partners. We’re headquartered in New York, with offices in London, Minneapolis and Costa Rica.

At the end of 2016 we acquired Priory Solutions, the leading provider of cost management solutions to the legal and professional services sectors. As we grow as a combined company, this newly created role is responsible for the managing the two development teams (totalling 6 people) responsible for Priory Solutions’ products “Research Monitor” and “Quest”. This position, which reports to TRG’s Head of Product/Technology, is a hands-on role responsible for managing all development, and guiding the technical architecture, for these products.

• Work with the head of product/technology to define and deliver against the product roadmap
• Line manage, mentor and guide the professional development, of our developers
• Manage the scheduling and delivery of all development work
• Have responsibility for creation and maintenance of development processes and procedures
• Lead the design and architecting of new software components
• Be hands on, build features, write tests, code stuff!

• The minimum requirements for this role are:
  A strong Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Some relevant line management, team leadership, and/or mentoring experience
• Great people skills both working with your team members, your peers and your managers
• Experience planning, managing and tracking development projects using Agile
• Accomplished .NET & web development skills:
  • ASP.NET MVC
  • C#
  • webapi
  • TDD
  • SQL Server
  • AngularJS or other MVC JS framework
  • Javascript, jQuery, HTML, CSS
• A pragmatic delivery-oriented attitude

The following requirements are a plus:

• Experience with IT Systems for Financial, Legal, or Professional Services firms
• Project Management experience
• iOS/Android development or Xamarin
